Purpose of Player Tryouts:
All potential players should obtain and fill out registration paperwork in advance of the tryouts. Please have the paperwork filled out and bring it to the tryouts. If you haven’t filled out the paperwork prior to participating it can be time consuming, so plan to arrive early. All potential future players must attend tryout dates in order for the EISA coaches to evaluate their skill levels. Note: We encourage players to attend 2 out of the 3 tryout dates, but with advance notice, accommodations can be made for conflicts. If a player is unable to attend a specified tryout date, arrangements must be made with EISA in order for that player to be appropriately assessed. This communication must take place prior to July 1st of 2009.
What takes place at the Team Placement tryouts? Upon arrival, players will be checked in and presented with a number that specifically identifies each player. Players are then placed into game-related drills and activities to allow the EISA coaches to assess them (using the Player Evaluation Form) on the main components of the game. The areas evaluated include: Physical: speed, agility, strength and stamina Technical: passing, dribbling and shooting Tactical: decision making, vision and awareness Psychological: attitude, coach-ability, confidence Players will be placed in game-related 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 6v6, and 8v8 situations (depending on the relevant age groups) allowing lots of touches on the ball for players and lots of opportunities to be observed in game-related activities. Goalkeepers will be included.
